It is important for managers to be acquainted with the work of front-line employees to understand how all of the parts work together to create efficient processes. Drivers and journalists have posted accounts of what it is like to deliver packages. We must also consider the larger picture: parcel delivery companies and their last mile delivery services. There have been lawsuits and OSHA incidents with which to contend.
The week’s background readings provide recent articles on insurance issues, injuries, and associated legal disputes. Find at least one other recent resource for support. For your post:
- Discuss the implication of these legal trends in last mile logistics.
- Based on research, provide information on two top legal issues (other than employee vs. gig worker status) facing last mile delivery.
