Green Vehicles Inc. (GVI) operates a chain of car dealerships that sell and service electric car models from several manufacturers, including the Chevrolet Spark, Nissan Leaf, BMW i3, and others. Because the parts departments at each dealership must stock parts from multiple manufacturers, the company requires a custom database system to manage parts inventories. You have been hired as a consultant to advise GVI’s managers on the best process to follow in developing such a system.
Research the topic of database development and write a three to five page paper that addresses the following questions:
- What software development process (SDLC) should GVI follow for its inventory management system, and what are the major steps in this process and what methodology would you recommend?
- What database development process (DBLC) should GVI follow for the inventory database in this system, and what are the major steps in this process?
- What are some best practices that GVI should observe to help ensure the success of this project?
The paper should be in APA format, double-spaced using 12-point Times New Roman font, with a cover page and reference list. The cover page and reference list do not count toward the required page count. The paper should include at least three references, one of which can be the course textbook. Please follow the 80/20 Rule for all written assignments: 80% or more of the work is in your own words and 20% or less is in the words of another author. The paper will be graded using the following rubric.
